This article provides information on how to verify TPC/IP network settings in Windows 2000.
► Solution
1. From the Start menu, select Settings, and then click Control Panel.
2. From the Control Panel window, double-click Network and Dial-up Connections.
3. From the Network and Dial-up Connections window, right-click Local Area Connection,
and then select Properties.
4. In the Local Area Connection Properties dialog box, select Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)
and then click Properties.
5. In the Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) Properties dialog box, click Obtain and IP address
automatically and Obtain DNS server address automatically.
6. Click the Advanced button.
7. In the Advanced TCP/IP Settings dialog box, click the DNS tab, then click to clear
Register this connection's address in DNS. Click OK.
8. In the Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) Properties dialog box, click OK.
9. In the Local Area Connection Properties dialog box, click Close.
10. From the Network and Dial-up Connections window. Click X.
