► Set Up Your Connection
For the best results, you should use equipment known to work with Xbox Live. The following cable
modems have been successfully tested with Xbox Live:

Choose a Connection Type
There are three ways to connect the Xbox to the Internet connection:

The Xbox and computer can be connected to the cable modem using an Ethernet hub. This
setup allows the Xbox and computer to be connected to the Internet at the same time, but it
requires Multiple Computer Access. There is a low monthly fee for Multiple Computer Access.

The Xbox can be connected directly to the cable modem using a USB cable. This setup is the
easiest, but the computer and the Xbox cannot be connected to the cable modem at the same
·
The Xbox and computer can be connected to the cable modem using a router. This setup is the
most complicated, but it allows both the Xbox and the computer to be connected to the
Internet at the same time without an extra fee. For more information on this setup, see the

Access for multiple devices can be obtained from Suddenlink. The steps below describe how to
request Multiple Computer Access:
These steps describe how to set up the Xbox with Multiple Computer Access:

Action
Turn off the Xbox console, the cable modem, and the computer.
Note: To turn off the cable modem, it must be unplugged from the power. It should remain
off for five to ten minutes before turning it back on.
Disconnect the Ethernet cable from the computer.
Connect the Ethernet port on the modem to an Ethernet port on the hub.
Connect the Ethernet port on the computer to an Ethernet port on the hub.
Connect the Ethernet port on the Xbox to an Ethernet port on the hub.
Turn on the cable modem, and then turn on the hub.
Note: The computer does not need to be on to use Xbox Live.
Turn on your Xbox console with no disc in the disc tray.
From the Xbox Dashboard, using the arrow buttons on the controller, select Xbox Live, and
then press the A button.
Note: If the Xbox Live screen displays, the connection to Xbox Live has been successfully
made.

Turn on the cable modem, and then turn on the router.
Note: The computer does not need to be on to use Xbox Live.
Turn on your Xbox console with no disc in the disc tray.
