Important Information Regarding Battery Backup for Suddenlink Phone Service (Residential) Customers
Suddenlink subscribers have the option to purchase a battery for their modem that provides eight (8) hours of backup power support. In the event of a power outage, Phone Service, including E-911 services, will not be available unless both the modem and telephone have its own power supply. For instance, a cordless phone that is electrically powered will not work during a power outage, even with battery backup for the modem. Additionally, if there are any disruptions to the Suddenlink network or facilities, the Phone Service will not work.
Batteries are designed to provide 8 hours of power support to the modem. The estimated service life of the battery is 6 to 10 years. Batteries should be stored in a cool, dry place.
Please note, Suddenlink does not provide monitoring of battery function. Subscribers are advised to perform routine monitoring of battery function by checking the LED indicator on the battery unit. If the LED indicator is blinking, the battery has hit low life threshold and replacement is necessary (but will still work for a limited period of time). If the LED indicator is out, the battery is either not present or dead.
