As an existing customer, you have the option to use your own modem. If you use a Suddenlink provided modem*, you'll receive tech support and an equipment replacement if there’s ever a malfunction or need to upgrade the cable modem. Using your own modem will not include these services.
Installing your own modem is a simple process. Start by visiting the Modem Self-Install here and follow the easy step-by-step instructions to set up and activate the modem on your Suddenlink account. If you were renting your equipment from Suddenlink, please return it within 7 business days to ensure proper credit to your account. Follow the instructions at suddenlink.com/returns.
*Suddenlink provided modems are subject to a modem lease fee per month.
